Coping with her new identity and making a new living in Shin Yeon's body, she navigates the modern human world while keeping her traditional ways safe.

Each character in the series depicts a different side of what they truly represent. Despite their off-screen popularity, in the series, each character did an amazing job bringing these characters to life and making the series a worthwhile fan-loving drama. Let's deeply analyze each character and how their roles and emotions bring up a turning point in the series and timeline during the Jesoen period.
Royal Consort Kang Dan Shim (Shin Seo Ri)
The royal consort Kang Da Shim was falsely accused of being the villain while someone else played her as their pawn. Now and then in the series, we see Shin Seo Ri (Da Shim) changing the trajectory of her life as she sheds sweat and tears to reach royalty status. Being born in a low caste, she was often accused, beaten, and treated harshly by her peers, but she resorts to living up to the par where no one would dare to question. She taught herself to read, write, and speak in different languages and even maintained her beauty, yet her brain was taken as a conspiring web of thoughts.
After she entered the modern city and the world of technology, she made herself useful by doing jobs, acting, and taking every step. She decides to take this new life as a blessing from heaven, where she can now be valued like a human. In the body of Shin Seo Ri, who happens to be a secondary actress doing small roles in series, felt defeated. Her dream was slowly becoming a distant thought that never felt real. Now with Seo Ri's body, Da Shim decides to take up her dream and make it a reality. Unlike the soft and submissive Seo Ri, Da Shim is a sharp and combative person.

She knows what kind of language speaks well with what kind of person. She doesn't even hesitate to fight back against anyone with fists and wits. But when it comes to love, she feels a void. In the past, she did have someone who loved her, but was it ever confessed? The series still has to unravel it.
Meeting Cha Se Gye out of the blue ignites her feelings and reminds her of a person who did care about the villainess back when she was young. Whether she knows he is the love from her past is yet to be revealed, but their chemistry together makes fans go "awe."
Cha Se Gye and A Prince with a Scarred Face- Yi Hyeon
The guy is the opposite of what he looks. He looks tight and is a heartbreaker for girls, but is unlucky in love. CEO of Biojei Industries, Cha is notoriously being dragged into events, giving him the ruthless CEO. His personal life never led him to become someone's love. He constantly shuts women down before they try to woo him. With Seo Ri, he is more like a moth to a flame. Their first meeting wasn't very good, and as the first episode opens, they fight with flowers. In the course of their frequent meetings, he seems happy and feels quite relaxed at times.
Just like Seo Ri, he too had a past connection. He has often had dreams about someone, perhaps his wife or his love. As she confronts a psychiatrist, he is tasked with the possibility that he might be getting calls from his lover from his past life. It's often seen in the series that when Cha dreams, he is unable to recognize women, but now his dreams are getting clearer. Though he shuts down the belief of having love or ever marrying, Seo Ri does leave him in a beautiful mess. He does confess this, but will this last?

At the same time, where Kang Shim belongs, a masked prince, Yi Hyeon, who is assigned to be taken care of by Shim, slowly starts to develop feelings for his maid. In present times, a void in his life is slowly getting filled in as Seo Ri breaks that wall he has kept for years. His life has already made him a villain, and now a villainous figure from the past is making him get swept away. In the past, he had a brother who was even more notorious than he was, but this time, he is even more dangerous than before. His present too; he has enemies, but it's his brother who is about to swallow his company and love as he did in the past.
Is she actually a villainess or just a poor soul being used? Or was she targeted to become a pawn in the king's play? It will soon be revealed.

Choi Moon-do / King Anjong (Yi Jae)
A family is always a person's safe place, but Choi Moon Do is a snake in human form. He is constantly after Cha Se Gye and is aiming to get him out of his uncle's will. He is trying to manipulate his brother's name and also make him a brat in the eyes of his uncle. Chail Constructions' president, Moon Do, is after his uncle's property and business. He is consistently trying to keep Cha in a mess so that he can win his uncle's trust. Now that Seo Ri is in the picture, he wants her to become his wife and then kill him when the time is right.
As he talks to Seo Ri in the latest episode, she becomes his brother's pretty useful knife, and in return, he will help her with her grandma's restaurant. This is not something he did today; just like Da Shim and Hyeon, he was once the ruler who commanded the consort to her death. His ambition to rule still prevails in the 21st century as it did decades back. He almost wiped out his entire family just to take the throne. This time, too, he is willing to do the same. He is aggressively ambitious, cunning, and trying to repeat history as he did before. Will he succeed? Only time will tell.

The supporting cast of the series has also played an integral part in the series, like Seo Ri's rival, Yoon Ji Hyo, bringing the comedy and competitiveness to the villainess. Nam Ok Soon, Seo Ri's grandma, is old and wants to see her granddaughter become a star. Son Jae-chan, who manages Cha Se Gye, often knows about the fights between Cha Se and Seo Ri and how they are in love with each other.
The series has become quite hyped among fans, and each episode unfolds more about the characters.
